Tickets are sold out for this event!

Take a step back in time to an Art Moderne house designed by visionary Knoxville Landscape Architect, Elizabeth Dunlap. Join us for a Summer Supper at the home of Laura and Mark Heinz in the historic Sequoyah Hills neighborhood. This house was designed and built by Mrs. Dunlap in 1934. Elizabeth was inspired by the Home of Tomorrow exhibition during a trip to the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair with her husband, Hobart. She particularly liked the Good Housekeeping Stran- Steel house and used many similar proportions and details in her design. Many of the Art Moderne details remain from Elizabeth’s design, including the flat roof, stucco walls, metal casement windows, and two portal windows on the rear elevation. She was ahead of her time in her boldness to design and build a home that had not been previously seen in Knoxville neighborhoods.
